Chief Class Prez and super student Nova (Aimee Teegarden) heads the prom panel at her high school. Even though she doesn’t yet have a date, Nova envisions a starry prom in which all the cliques get along and recollect the night forever. When an inconsiderate student accidentally burns down all the decorations, Nova only has a few weeks to rebuild….alone until the rector assigns bad boy Jesse Richter (cute Depp look-similar to one another Thomas McDonell) to help her. Of course, duh, they fall for each other.

Whether you went to prom, didn't go, or lately hate the whole idea, there's someone to relate to in this light romantic comedy.

Leader Joe Nussbaum and Wech keep the movie from sinking into a cheesy tale of green love through interesting supporting characters. Yin Chang plays an emotionally divided postpositive major who must decide between love and career, while the young athlete played by Nolan Sotillo struggles with the pick up between his best friend and the girl he likes.

-"Competition Wilde: Season One," Grade D: An environmentalist (Keri Russell) agrees to move in with a apparent millionaire (Will Arnett). Despite the first-rate talent, this FoxOX series lasted less than one pep up. So if you missed any or all of it, here's your chance to get caught up with the comedy.

Russell brought a lot of prettiness and Arnett provided plenty of silliness, but it wasn't enough to overcome the bad scribble literary works.

Also new on DVD this week:

"The Nightmare Before Christmas": At one's fingertips for the first time on Blu-ray 3D.

"Sons of Anarchy: Season Three": Ron Perlman and Katey Sagal unparalleled in the FX drama.

"Storage Wars: Season 1": Wire series about people who buy contents of storage units.

"iCarly: The Intact 3rd Season": Jane Lynch and Jack Black customer star.

"Paranormal State: Season 5": Series explores things that go dispatch in the night.

"Only In America with Larry The Cable Guy: Aggregate 1": Larry the Cable Guy looks at interesting people and events across the mother country.

"Nikita: The Complete First Season": Nikita looks to finish the organization that trained her to be an assassin.

"Doc Martin: The Movies": The two full-magnitude TV movies that inspired the series starring Martin Clunes.

"The Vampire Diaries: The Finish Second Season": CW series about the loves and deaths of youthful vampires.

"Wrecked": A man (Adrien Brody) has no celebration of what seems to be illegal activities.

"The Man Who Walked Between the Towers": A accumulation of animated stories of inspiration.

"Wonders of the Bailiwick": Brian Cox explains mysteries of the universe.

"Angelina Ballerina: The Shining Morning star Trophy The Movie": Ms. Mimi announces there's to be a big talent show.

"Domicile: Season 7": High Laurie stars in this medical photoplay.

"Tyler Perry's Madea's Big Happy One's own flesh": Madea takes charge to deal with a family danger.

"Forks Over Knives": Documentary urges Americans to eat more vegetables.

"Torment's Kitchen: The Complete Fifth Season": Chef Gordon Ramsay puts contestants through unkind cooking competition.

"90210: The Third Season": Coeval version of "Beverly Hills 90210."

"Dora the Explorer: Dora's Halloween Parade": Dora and her friends go on a Halloween jeopardize.

"Desperate Housewives: The Complete Seventh Seasoned": The antics continue on Wisteria Lane.

"Detroit 1-8-7: The Superlative First Season": Michael Imperioli stars in this short-lived cop show.

"Cougar Burgh: The Complete Second Season": Courteney Cox stars in this ABC comedy series.

"An American Kith and kin: Anniversary Edition": This first reality show aired on public small screen in 1973.

"Skateland": A look at the mercantile and social stresses of the early 1980s.

"The 5th Mercy": Hope is restored by the eldest son when a close-knit household suffers a tragedy.

Rick Bentley: rbentley@fresnobee.com
